Jason Walker started as the Executive Director of the Omni CRA in April of 2016.
Jason worked as the Village Manager of the Village of El Portal for ten years, where he planned organized and oversaw the work of all Village departments.
Prior to his work in El Portal, Jason worked as a Senior Staff and Policy Advisor to City of Miami District 2 Commissioner, Johnny Winton where he was responsible for the neighborhood oversight of Coconut Grove, Brickell, Omni CRA and the Overtown/Parkwest CRA.
Mr. Balzebre is the new Assistant Director at the Omni CRA. Before taking this position, he was previously working in the District 2 Commissioner’s Office at the City of Miami. Anthony has a background in Public Policy chiefly focused on national and global health policy advocacy, research design and evaluation, and economic and community development. Anthony is a Miami native and received his B.A. from Wheaton College outside of Boston, MA. (He is devoted to applied policy approaches that seek to impact communities’ real prospects and outcomes.)
Community Relations Manager
Well-travelled and well-lived including Philadelphia, Arizona and Atlanta, Courtney Omega is a proud Marlins Mama and Dol-Fan. She possesses cultured interpersonal skills and an engaging personality. Focused on planning and directing public relations programs designed to bring awareness as well as building and strengthening the reputation of efforts, initiatives and services offered by The Omni CRA. Responsible for developing a network of community and business leaders and increasing involvement in outreach efforts across the neighborhood. Courtney Omega also organizes community canvassing, civic engagement projects and accepts requests for programs to improve the quality of life for Overtown and Omni Residents while increasing Community and City relationships. Currently coordinates the monthly Omni-CRA Connection, a newsletter that shares updates and notices of announcements relative to residents.
Hilda Tejera's dedication and care to service spans beyond titles. Though currently serving as Executive Assistant to the Executive Director, Mrs. Tejera has worked in the media and financial service industries as well as held production and administrative positions with national organizations including NBC, CBS, Univision and American Express. Mrs. Tejera received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Teachers College in Havana, Cuba and also has a degree in classical music.
Mrs. Tejera serves the Executive Director as an office manager, administrator and hostess for the guests at the Executive Office. She also organizes programming along with Executive Staff and assists the Executive Director with tasks and immediate projects. Her timely attention to detail and professionalism is a top priority.
Chief Legal Officer
Ms. Jones is the new Chief Legal Officer at the Omni CRA. She is in house counsel for us. She was previously with the City Attorney’s Office. She has background in construction, finance, immigration, contract and document review.
She is originally from Jamaica. She previously lived in Jacksonville Florida. She attended undergrad at NSU in Davie Florida, Graduated with her MBA from Jacksonville University and Law School at Florida Coastal. Isiaa is very passionate about development.
Director of Planning & Policy
Mr. Old is the new Planning & Policy Director at the Omni CRA. Originally from California, by way of Chicago, he holds degrees in Neurobiology and Fine Art, is a graduate of the Good Government Initiative's Leaders of Excellence program and UM's Community Scholars in Affordable Housing. Adam served as an elected Councilperson for the Village of El Portal from 2012-2014, spearheaded the 2013 El Portal Community Planning Charrette and sits on a number of municipal boards and committees.
Adam is an advocate for smart and incremental growth, great neighborhoods, affordable living, and sustainable and active mobility. The Omni is a district that has great potential in all of these areas, and Adam is excited to have the opportunity to work on them.
